Nike stepped up their sneaker drop game, rolling out the Red Carpet (Kyrie’s new shoe) anywhere Sneakerheads wanted it.
Opportunity: Through Nike's SNKRS messenger presence, we were tasked with creating the AR "drop" for the highly anticipated Kyrie 4 Red Carpet shoe.
Our Innovation: To embrace the drama of the SNKRS drop, and bring to life the red carpet theme, we created the first AR experience in Messenger. Using a specific unlock code delivered through Nike's social influencers (a secret knock made up of emojis), fans could unlock the Kyrie 4, and see it manifest itself right before their eyes. Time is of the essence in the Sneakerhead community - if you are delayed a couple seconds, you may not get your treasured kicks - so the thread allowed for immediate purchase..
Results: This campaign was successful for Nike and Facebook alike, showcasing that the drama of a retail experience could be expressed through AR. Also building the entire experience within Messenger meant that going from consideration to purchase was a seamless exercise and the shoe sold out in seconds.
